Built in 1735, this historic cobblestoned alley is a revolutionary landmark. Jean-Paul Marat was assassinated here in 1793 by Charlotte Corday. Georges Danton lived at No. 20. Dr. Guillotin conducted early tests of the guillotine on sheep in this very courtyard. Original Philippe Auguste wall fragments visible.
